PERE VILARRUBLA

Pere is an vertical dancer and contemporary dancer.

​

He studied contemporary dance at various schools in Barcelona, including Area and Nunart, while also earning a degree in Translation and Interpreting. He began training in vertical dance in 2015 and has since enriched his practice by tanking classes with Spanish creators and instructors such as Sheila Ferrer, Eduardo Fernández, Juan Leiva, and Maitane Sarralde, as well as international figures including Magalie Lanriot (France/Portugal), Lindsay Butcher (Gravity & Levity, UK), Roel Seeber (USA), and Wanda Moretti (Il Posto, Italy).

Vertical dance and harness-based movement are his primary disciplines. Over the years, he has built a solid career as a performer with a range of companies, developing a versatile and adaptable movement language. His work spans a wide spectrum of choreographic styles, making him a dynamic and multifaceted vertical dancer.

Vertical dancer:

In 2020, he received his first booking as a vertical dancer, collaborating with the British company Yskynna on private commercial events in London. Since then, he has worked with several Spanish vertical dance companies, including:

  • Sacude (Barcelona), as part of the Euforia project (2021–present)
     

  • La Glo (Bilbao), performing in the touring shows Sacred, Ensueño, and Perspectivas (2022–present)
     

  • Cia. Berta Baliu (Barcelona), as a performer in the piece FARGAR (2023–present)
     

  • Delrevés (Barcelona), joined in 2025 to perform in their touring show SENA on Tour!

In addition to company work, he has performed in numerous private and corporate events, including large-scale opening ceremonies and site-specific shows as a vertical dancer. In 2025, he also collaborated for the first time with The Aerialettes, performing in the inauguration of the KJ building in The Hague. 

His performances have taken place across various countries, including Spain, Portugal, Andorra, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

Alongside his career as a performer, he is also active in the performing arts sector as a cultural manager. He has taken on production roles for touring companies such as LaSúbia and Alba Sarraute & Les Ofèlies, as well as for dance festivals including Menorca en Dansa.
