BORIS BOES

Boris is an vertical dancer and contemporary dancer.

 

He was born and raised in the Netherlands and graduated from the Dance Arts in Context program at Fontys Academy of the Arts, specializing in contemporary dance. He has worked with renowned artists and companies such as Cecilia Moisio, Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, Katja Heitmann, and Via Berlin.

In addition to theatre-based dance, Boris is highly interested in creating and performing dance in unconventional spaces. He believes that the location itself can become an additional element in the performance, offering new ways to make dance more engaging and accessible to a broader audience.

This is one of the key aspects that draws Boris to vertical dance. It makes ultimate use of a non-traditional performance space, allowing the location to be viewed in a new light. As a dancer, it offers the opportunity to highlight and transform a space in a completely different way.

 

Vertical Dancer:

Boris has performed for the first time with The Aerialettes in march 2025 as a vertical dancer on the premiere of the vertical dance duet Floting Rhytmhs alongside Charlotte at the Sieraad in Amsterdam. Also he performed with the vertical dance collective Ropes Aligned in the vertical dance performance ''Ablantis'' at the A-Lab christmass celebration in Amsterdam in 2024.
