She first went to study contemporary dance at Codarts - Rotterdamse Dansacademie. But than switched to The Theaterschool in Amsterdam were she also had singing, acting and more musical theatre lessons besides contemporary classes and this combination really made her happy and able to fully experience all levels of dance and theater.
She received her Bachelor of Dance at the Amsterdamse Hogeschool voor de Kunsten (University of Performing Arts) in 2011.
During her studies at the Theaterschool she also competed in the Dutch & Belgium edition of tv show ‘SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE’ and became a semi-finalist in 2009.
She received a scholarship to train in New York at the Alvin Ailey School 2010-2011. As an apprentice she danced in Bob Foltz+Company and in the same year she was a ensemble member in the musical 'Monthy Pythons Spamalot' and toured the Netherlands and Belgium. The reason why I absolutely love aerial dance is that everything comes together. All the separate experiences I had with contemporary dance, commercial dance, modeling, choreographing, big events in arenas, small events in art galleries in aerial dance I can really give my whole heart and touch each of these the elements such as technique, beauty, rawness, spectacle, simplicity, pureness, creativity. It all merges together in this wonderful and magical choreography that dances in the air and on the ground and the possibilities are endless. There is so much to explore and create which keeps me motivated, challenged, passionate and happy!
